Teacher Job Summary

Grace Early Learning Center is looking for full time classroom teachers and floaters to join our team for our age groups of 0-5 years old.

  • All applicants must have experience working in child development of at least 1 year.

  • Must demonstrate knowledge of child development through the use of materials to supplement a faith based curriculum.

  • Must be able to provide a positive classroom environment, have effective time management skills and be able to communicate well in both oral and written forms.

  • Applicants are strongly encouraged to have an educational background in Child Development, Education, or other related course of study significant to this position.

  • This position will be for 40 hours per week and includes paid holidays and accrued personal time off.

Responsibilities and Duties

Applicants will be responsible for following and implementing a child development faith based curriculum.

Must be able to:

  • Complete lesson plans on a weekly basis

  • Communicate with parents about student affairs

  • Work well with a team

Qualifications and Skills

 

Applicants are strongly recommend to have an educational background in Child Development, Education, or other related course of study significant to this position.

 

Must be able to obtain within first 90 days, if they do not already possess them:

  • Childcare Orientation I & II Certificates

  • Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma Certificates

  • CPR/First Aid

Assistant Director / Student and Personnel Coordinator

Salary Range:  $30,000-$40,000

Direct Report:  Director

Direct Staff Oversight:  Teachers, Kitchen Staff, Campus Services

Time Commitment:  9:30-6:00pm Salaried

The Assistant Director/Student and Personnel Coordinator shall take on the responsibilities of supporting the Director in the day-to-day operations of the Grace Early Learning Center facility. Key areas of oversight will include: Staff, Students, Parents, and Enrollment. The Assistant Director/Student and Personnel Coordinator will also provide support with Licensing Compliance and the Food Program.

Job Summary

 

Licensing

  • Support ELC Licensing Requirements

  • Attend all required meetings and training courses for Division of Regulated Child Care and ALL-STARS program.

  • Conduct and comply with yearly audit/renewal with licensing officials and ALL-STARS officials. Have Director sign-off.

  • Complete all required documentation, including but not limited to Plan of Corrections for any infractions or fines imposed during inspections. Have Director sign-off.

  • Hold staff accountable to ALL-STARS and licensing regulations, conduct as-needed training classes to ensure compliance.

 

H.R./Staff

  • Support the Director in managing employee life cycle; recruitment through off-boarding. Screen applicants. Schedule and complete interviews before recommending to the Director.

  • Primary staff oversight of teachers, kitchen, and campus services. Observe/monitor staff and classroom activities. Establish performance goals and objectives.

  • Conduct and document Staff Evaluations at regular and planned intervals and develop appropriate action plans. Have Director Sign-off on Yearly Evaluations.

  • Correct & guide employees, ensuring that disciplinary actions are consistent and fair, and following applicable laws and the employee handbook.

  • Manage Staff Scheduling and changes. Process requests/vacations/PTO.

  • Oversee kitchen staff and kitchen standards.

  • Ensure staff files and records are up to date.

  • Conduct regular Staff Meetings & In-Service Days each year.

 

Student/Parents/Enrollments

  • Oversee classroom rosters. Manage and approve classroom enrollments, adjust numbers, and transition students as needed.

  • Maintain the waiting list numbers and update accordingly.

  • Facilitate student assessment procedures and conduct placements.

  • Confer with teaching staff regarding child’s behavioral or learning problems and recommend methods of modifying inappropriate behavior and encouraging learning experiences.

  • Ensure student files and records are up to date.

  • Converse with parents via phone, email, and conference on any issues or complaints.

  • Handle all disciplinary measures with students, contact parents if needed.

 

Miscellaneous

  • Organize and coordinate ELC events such as Graduation, Christmas Play, family engagement activities, picture days, book fairs, fundraisers, etc.

  • Support and sustain positive morale of the staff. Plan Staff functions, Teacher Appreciation Week, Christmas Party, etc.

  • Cover classrooms in absence of Staff members, or maneuver students/staff around to adjust for vacancies as needed.

  • Take on the responsibilities of the Director in his/her absence.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Education Requirements -- related degree (Masters or Bachelors (Preferred), or Associates) in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Child and Family Studies, or related field or Child Care Certificate or Credentials.

  • Completed at least 2 years of experience working under supervision primarily with preschoolers in a licensed childcare center, nursery school, church-operated school, or similar setting.

  • Demonstrate computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Suite. Ability to access and operate licensing databases.

  • Demonstrate the social skills necessary to relate to a variety of people, remaining positive even under stressful situations.

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner with little supervision.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of ages and stages of development. Demonstrate flexibility and openness to new ideas in childcare practices, and under the Director’s Guidance develop implementation plans.

  • Demonstrate comfort level with legal/licensing verbiage and terminology in written reports.

  • Model conflict resolution by communicating directly with individuals involved and collaborating to develop solutions.

  • Confidence in coaching and delivering constructive feedback to others that develop them as individuals.

  • Maintain confidentiality about issues regarding staff members, children, families, and church staff.
